Former President Benigno S. Aquino III on Wednesday denied the accusation that he also benefitted in the pork barrel fund scam allegedly masterminded by businesswoman and alleged mastermind Janet Lim Napoles.</div>

At a news conference in Quezon City, Aquino said it was impossible for him to have been involved in the misuse of congressional funds during a period when he was still a member of the opposition.</div>

"Parang napakahirap naman sagutin niyan, napakaabsurdo 'no. Nung time na ginagawa niya yang scheme na 'yan e ako yung nasa oposisyon," Aquino said.</div>

Former Negros Oriental Rep. Jacinto "Jing" Paras had earlier claimed that Napoles, who is facing plunder charges before the Sandiganbayan, informed him that Aquino was among those who received commissions from her.</div>

Aquino said only those dreaming wide awake can believe the claims made against him.</div>

The former Chief Executive also dismissed the possibility of Napoles becoming a state witness as regards the plunder cases in connection with the pork scam.</div>

Aquino said Napoles could only become a state witness if her camp proves that she is the least guilty in the misuse of public funds of which she is one of the alleged masterminds.</div>

In another groundbreaking article, Rigoberto Tiglao discussed the atrocities of the Aquino administration and all its cohorts that have either been done discreetly that the public had missed it or had its witnesses silenced so it would not be publicized.<br />

Tiglao asserts that the crimes of the Yellows were done for the same purpose: absolute power. The Yellows pulled strings behind the scene in order to eliminate any threat to their stronghold in the government.<br />
<br />
One of the first biggest atrocities they did was the impeachment of former Chief Justice Corona during the Aquino administration based on tenuous reasons, but largely, the bribery of the Congress.<br />
<br />
The one to hold the post after Corona was Ma. Lourdes Sereno who was a good college friend of former President Benigno Aquino III.<br />
<br />
The pork barrel scam ran headlines during its peak and the Yellows managed to pin down opposition leaders in the legislative branch while keeping out their hands through the help of the Philippine Daily Inquirer which they gave exclusive access to cover the proceedings, documents, and alleged whistleblower Benhur Luy.<br />
<br />
In 2016, the Yellows rallied for their presidential candidate Mar Roxas through massive vote buying, but while that did not work, it helped them secure a place in the vice presidential post through Leni Robredo.<br />
<br />
The maneuvers of the Yellows in the pork barrel scam are now slowly coming to light with the acquittal of “pork barrel queen” Janet Napoles from the crime of kidnapping her own relative and long-time aide Benhur Luy.<br />
<br />
A background check on the Aquino-Napoles relations showed that they were longtime friends along with other Liberal Party (LP) figures such as former Budget Secretary Florencio Abad and Senator Franklin Drilon.<br />
<br />
Tiglao enumerated the facts about the pork barrel scam that he believes calls for an investigation in the Duterte administration with the first one being that the Commission on Audit’s (COA) special audit on the pork barrel funds covered the years 2007 to 2009 which was Arroyo’s administration.<br />
<br />
A special audit report from 2010 to 2012 which is the Aquino term has yet to be released.<br />
<br />
No one from the Yellows were charged for graft and corruption in the pork barrel scam, while the three senators who were were the biggest critics of the Yellow administration that time.<br />
<br />
Additionally, Jinggoy Estrada and Bong Revilla were prospective presidential or vice presidential candidates for 2016 that time which Tiglao assumed might have been the reason why the Yellows pinned them down during the scam.<br />
<br />
Despite being unconstitutional, Aquino managed to maintain the practice up until 2016 through a funding scheme for Bottom Up Budgeting projects.<br />
<br />
Tiglao named Inquirer as the biggest media aide of the Yellows that helped secure their posts, in exchange, they managed to evade their Php 1.5 billion tax liability in Dunkin Donut which Inquirer owner Rufino family owns and also their Php 2 billion unpaid rentals for illegally leased Mile Long property.<br />

According to reports, more than 800 policemen are going to be ousted for being “scalawags.” Allegedly, these men are involved with various illegal activities. Drugs, robbery, and even extortion.<br />
According to Senior Supt. Chiquito Malayo of the Philippine National Police-Counter-Intelligence Task Force (CITF), the complaint were taken from their hotline number.<br />

The task force was created after the PNP-Anti-Illegal Drugs Group disgraceful involvement in the kidnap-slay of Jee Ick-Joo, a businessman from South Korea that the group tried to extort.<br />
<br />
“We are really thankful especially to the media because you have been repeatedly airing our hotline numbers. Through this, we were able to receive 5,000 text messages so far,” said the superintendent.<br />
Of course, the 800 will be given due process and will be subject for a follow-up and/or validation.<br />
<br />
Malayo also said that most of the “scalawags” are coming from Metro Manila and are related to extortions.<br />
He added that the task force use entrapment operations to validate the claims.<br />
<br />
The task force is thankful for the citizens who are helping them out and is looking forward to their continued support.<br />
<br />
“I hope that the citizens will continue helping us by sending us reports. We really need reports coming from the public for successful operation”, said the commander.<br />
<br />
There were already policemen who were taken out of commission, two of them were even police colonels who were linked to protecting an illegal gambling scheme in Central Visayas.<br />
<br />
Back in February, a group of “scallawag” cops was deployed to Basilan. The president also threatened some of them that he will make them eat the water lily infestation behind Malacanang.<br />

Umapela ang mga nagsampa ng kaso kabilang si Bayan Muna Rep. Carlos Isagani Zarate sa Ombudsman na ipaliwanag kung bakit ganoon ang kinalabas, kaya pinagkomento ng Ombudsman si Aquino.<br />
<br />
Dito, ipinabasura ni Aquino ang motion for reconsideration na inihain ng mga compalainants dahil wala namang “sufficient ground” para patunayang karapat-dapat siyang kasuhan.<br />
<br />
Iginiit ni Aquino na ginampanan lang niya ang “core executive functions” niya bilang pangulo at hindi niya sinapawan ng kapangyarihan ang Kongreso.<br />
<br />
Wala rin aniyang sapat na dahilan para kasuhan siya ng technical malversation dahil wala naman siyang direktang kustodiya sa kaban ng bayan.<br />
<br />
Hindi rin aniya maituturing na direktang pag-gasta ng pondo ang paglalabas ng budget circulars at memoranda.<br />
<br />
Hindi rin aniya siya dapat kasuhan ng graft dahil ipinatupad niya ang DAP sa paglalayong mapabilis ang mga infrastructure spending na makatutulong sa ekonomiya ng bansa.<br />
<br />
Dagdag pa ng dating pangulo, hindi rin naman napatunayan ng complainants na nalugi ang gobyerno dahil sa nasabing programa.<br />

Former Naga City Councilor and Barangay Chairman of Naga City Luis Ortega exposed the alleged corruption practices of the Robredos and how narrated how they fought against the one of the most powerful family in Bicol Region.<br />

In the video recorded by Niño R. Barzaga, Ortega asked Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre to talk to him because he’s going to reveal something against the Robredos.<br />

Ortega narrated how the Robredo rise to power. He also claimed that he helped the former City Mayor of Naga, Jessie Robredo against the people who wanted to grab his power.<br />
<br />
Ortega belied that Jessie Robredo was appointed by former President Cory Aquino.<br />
<br />
“Ang pinakaunang pagsisinungaling ni [Jessie] Robredo.. dahil yung sinasabi niya na ang nag appoint sa kanya eh si [former] President Cory..which is not true.. ang nag appoint sa kanya is yung deputy secretary Douglas Cagas” Ortega said.<br />
<br />
“Kaya si Robredo, ang salita ko palagi sa kanya ay number one na sinungaling sa buong mundo,” Ortega added.<br />
<br />
He said that Ortega and his friend former Naga City councilor Emilio Aguinaldo filed 70 cases against the Robredos, including administrative cases.<br />
<br />
In the video, Ortega presented the documents that still not circulating on the internet.<br />
<br />
29 out of 70 cases that they filed against the Robredos were already dismissed because of political reasons.<br />
<br />
He believe that his friend Aguinaldo was assassinated by the men of Jessie Robredo.<br />
<br />
He urged justice secretary Aguirre to reinvestigate the cases that they filed against the Robredos.<br />

<b>MANILA, Philippines </b>— Embattled Vice President Leni Robredo recently disclosed that someone tried to rescind her daughter's admission to one of the most prestigious universities in the world.<br />
<br />
Asked what her greatest fear for her family is, Robredo lamented how her three daughters are being dragged into the political circus despite her prayers that they be spared from online crossfire.<br />
<br />
She said her detractors attempted to sabotage Aika's admission to Harvard University through a letter that discredits the family's capability to send the student to the Ivy League school.<br />
<br />
"Aika showed me a letter of my detractors... Iyong letter nila pinapa-rescind iyong acceptance niya sa Harvard. And the grounds na sinabi nila was iyong tuition daw kasi ay mahal. Ang mahal ng tuition," Robredo said at "TERETalks" in St. Theresa's College, Quezon City last Saturday.<br />

The Commission on Human Rights is facing its “toughest challenge” ever —“crisis of democracy,” detained Senator Leila de Lima said Friday.<br />

De Lima, a former CHR chief, said the country is in a crisis “where citizens are silenced amid the prevalence of flagrant violations of our fundamental rights.”<br />
<br />
“[It is] where lies and rumors are fabricated to poison our minds by some forces in our State for the sake of their political and personal agendas.”<br />
<br />
De Lima, a staunch critic of President Rodrigo Duterte, is currently detained at the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame over her alleged involvement in the proliferation of illegal drugs inside the national penitentiary during her term as Justice secretary.<br />
<br />
She was the chairperson of the CHR during the administration of former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.<br />
<br />
During her stint at the commission, she led the investigation on the killings allegedly perpetrated by the so-called Davao Death Squad, supposedly upon orders of Duterte, then Davao City's mayor.<br />
<br />
“It is in this institution (CHR) where I learned the value of human life and human dignity, regardless of one’s status,” De Lima said.<br />
<br />
“Now more than ever, the commission needs to have a united stand in fighting this crisis, to continue fighting for the welfare and rights of our people, especially the marginalized who are often the victims of injustice in our society,” she added.<br />
<br />
The CHR, under chairperson Chito Gascon, is celebrating its 30th founding anniversary Friday.<br />
<br />

The Office of the Ombudsman has found probable cause to charge Southern Leyte governor Damian Mercado with falsification of public documents for allegedly failing to state true and complete information in his identification documents.<br />
<br />
According to the Ombudsman, Mercado failed to submit a complete and truthful Personal Data Sheet (PDS) and Elective Local Official's Profile Directory (ELOPD).<br />
<br />
Mercado claimed in these documents that he was a civil engineer by profession and completed grade school at Maasin Central School from 1964 to 1971.<br />
<br />
But the Ombudsman also noted that Mercado failed to state in his 2010 PDS the years of his graduation from the educational institutions he supposedly studied in.<br />
<br />
“Mercado’s failure to fill up the spaces for the year when he graduated (if graduated) constitutes concealment of information in violation of his undertaking in his PDS to state the true, correct and complete statement pursuant to the provisions of pertinent laws, rules and regulations," the Ombudsman said in a resolution.<br />
<br />
The Ombudsman said Mercado's failure to explain the observations regarding the years he finished his elementary education and his college degree, his "evasive" claim that he may be mistaken for a civil engineer because he was a contractor, and the incomplete entries in his PDS and ELOPD "all endanger the well-founded belief that the governor withheld and concealed the truth and falsified his entries."<br />
<br />
Mercado argued that the complaint against him must be dismissed due to the Ombudsman's inordinate delay in its investigation.<br />
<br />
The Ombudsman, however, dismissed Mercado's defense and explained that “the fact-finding case or case build-up phase of the prosecutorial process of this Office is not part of preliminary investigation.”<br />
<br />
According to Article 171 (4) of the Revised Penal Code, a public official has committed falsification when he or she, by taking advantage of his or her position, makes an untruthful statement in narrating the facts in a document.<br />

<b>MANILA, Philippines —</b> Media and entertainment network ABS-CBN recently filed a lawsuit against 22 pirate sites before a US Federal court in Daly City, California for copyright and trademark infringement.<br />
<br />
ABS-CBN filed a Motion for Temporary Restraining Order in US Federal District Court against 22 pirate websites for damages of over $40 million. The network filed the complaint in pursuit of its continuing effort to protect its intellectual property from global piracy.<br />
<br />
"As mentioned before, we are committed to implementing the zero tolerance policy on piracy of ABS-CBN Global COO Raffy Lopez. We know that over ninety percent of these pirate sites contain malware which can harm people by stealing the banking and personal information from their computers or phones," ABS-CBN AVP and Head of Global Anti-Piracy Elisha Lawrence said.<br />
<br />
"We will continue to shut down these pirate sites to protect the public from harm. There is only one genuine ABS-CBN internet subscription service that is safe for our fans to use and that is TFC and TFC.tv," she added.<br />
<br />
Last May 1, the federal judge in the case granted a preliminary injunction order. This resulted in the blocking and shutting down of all the domains.<br />
<br />
The 22 domains in the complaint as well as their status are listed below.<br />
<br />
Last February, ABS-CBN also for infringement of trademarks and registered copyrights of the media and entertainment firm's 27 television shows and movies, with damages amounting to over $8 million.<br />

Bigo din umano si Gaite na ipatupad ang provision ukol sa “goodwill money” sa pagpapaupa kung saan P25,000 dapat ang upa sa unang 10 square meter at P1,000 ang upa ng mga susunod na square meter kaya dapat P1.719 million ang binayaran ng kumpanya.<br />

BEIJING – A House panel may have refused to recommend criminal charges against Sen. Leila de Lima, but President Duterte is confident that the former justice secretary “will rot in jail” for involvement in the illegal drug trade.<br />

Duterte told reporters here yesterday that he saw De Lima suffering the fate of former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, who was placed in hospital detention without bail during the administration of former president Benigno Aquino III on charges of corruption and poll cheating.<br />

The charges were eventually dismissed, allowing her<br />
<br />
to attend House sessions during her third term as representative of Pampanga’s second district.<br />
<br />
Interestingly, De Lima was the justice secretary when the cases against Arroyo were filed.<br />
<br />
“The testimonies of those who lined up there previously, and given the test of the crucible of direct and cross-examination and put it to the test, I am telling you now, she is in danger of going to jail,” Duterte said here. “And remember, the moment the indictments are filed in court, there is no bail. And she could (experience) what Gloria Arroyo suffered.”<br />

De Lima is being investigated by the Department of Justice on accusations that she collected money from drug lords to finance her senatorial bid during the 2016 polls. Inmates of the New Bilibid Prison also claimed during congressional hearings that De Lima had granted special privileges to high-value convicts when she was justice secretary.<br />
<br />
De Lima has denied the allegations and claimed that Duterte is out to assassinate her character because she has been critical of his brutal war on drugs. She also predicted that Duterte would be embarrassed for making false allegations.<br />
<br />
But the President is convinced that the inmates who tagged De Lima in the narcotics trade were telling the truth. He has portrayed De Lima in several speeches as the example of a narco politician.<br />
<br />
“You think those officials who testified against her were lying? These so many NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) agents and all? And her odious character,” he said. “She (talks) as if she is raising the view of womanhood to take away the heat (from her)…If those (drug) connections are true, she will rot in jail. She will rot in jail. It’s no bail because not only did she encourage (and allow) shabu to enter (the penitentiary) in and out, she was a principal by direct participation.”<br />

The high court said it was unconstitutional to withdraw unobligated allotments from implementing agencies and declare the withdrawn unobligated allotments and unreleased appropriations as savings prior to the end of the fiscal year without complying with the definition of savings contained in the General Appropriations Act.</div>

The SC also argued that cross-border transfers of savings of the executive department to offices outside the executive were unconstitutional.</div>

The SC said projects under DAP prior to the SC ruling were legal under the "operative fact" doctrine.</div>

Paner of the Juana Change Movement, Kilusang Magbubukid ng Philipinas (KMP) Secretary General Antonio Flores, GABRIELA Secretary General Joan Mae Salvador, Kalipunan ng Damayang Mahihirap (KADAMAY) National Chairperson Gloria G. Arellano and Philippine Heart Center Employees Association-Alliance of Health Workers President Bonifacio S. Carmona, Jr.</div>
