Supt. Lito Dumandan Cabamongan, the police official nabbed after being caught in a drug session in Las Piñas City, tested positive for illegal substance, according to a report on Balitanghali, Friday.
In his report, dzBB's Sam Nielsen said results of the drug conducted by the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory in Camp Crame, however, would still have to undergo confirmatory testing, which could take about a week.
Cabamongan, through his lawyer, however was not buying the results of the police's drug test and had demanded an independent drug test.
Cabamongan, while detained at the Las Piñas Police Station, received a mouthful from PNP chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa, who berated the detained police official.
Cabamongan is chief of the Alabang Satelite Office Crime Laboratory Service and so far so far the highest ranking police official arrested for using illegal drugs.
Cabamongan claimed he is a deep penetrating agent conducting surveillance against illegal drug suspects. He said he got the permission to conduct operation from Crime Laboratory director Chief Supt. Aurelio Trampe.
But Trampe denied Cabamongan’s claim.
