A hydrogen gas tank with a loose bulb exploded at a shop selling the balloon-making equipment in Davao City on Saturday night.
The incident occurred a few meters away from Mayor Sara Duterte's residence and startled residents in Ecoland and Matina.
Christopher Andrada, one of the workers at Astrochairs, said one of the tanks wasn't sealed properly, causing air pressure to be released.

According to Talomo PNP, members of the Presidential Security Group immediately went to the area to make sure the mayor and her family were safe.
"The cause of the explosion was a hydrogen tank with a loose bulb," Chief Inspector Oliver Navales said.
Authorities are investigating the incident and whether Astrochairs is licensed to operate the hydrogen gas tanks.
No one was hurt in the incident.
