ILOILO- A man surrendered to authorities after stabbing his wife to death at their home in Barangay Agcuyawan Calsada in Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo on Saturday night.

Carlos Valdez has been taken into police custody for the fatal stabbing of his wife, Legaya Valdez.

Investigators say that at around 8:30 p.m., Carlos came home drunk angering his wife who allegedly punched him and shouted foul words at him.

This allegedly prompted Carlos to draw a knife and stab his wife 6 times.

Legaya was rushed to the hospital in Barotac Nuevo where she was pronounced dead.

Carlos is now facing parricide charges.
