Former President Benigno Aquino III is facing three more homicide charges before the Office of the Ombudsman in connection with the death of 44 members of the PNP Special Action Force (SAF) in Mamasapano, Maguindanao last year.

The additional complaints were filed by parents of slain Igorot troopers, namely; PO2 Noble Kaingan, PO2 Walner Danao and PO2 Nicky Nacino.

The Volunteers against Crime and Corruption and the Citizens Crime Watch which assisted Celestino Kaingan, Julie Danao and Felicitas Nacino in filing the complaints said similar cases will also be filed shortly by relatives of the victims from Mindanao.

Like in previous complaint filed by parents of two other police commandos before the anti-graft body, Aquino together with dismissed PNP chief Alan Purisima and former SAF chief Getulio Napenas were accused of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide.

In a joint 35-page complaint, parents of the victims said “Operation:Exodus” to capture high-value Muslim terrorists Zulkifli Bin Hir alias iMarwan and Basit Usman was poorly executed resulting to the untimely deaths of their loved ones.

Purisima was also charged with usurpation of authority for not informing his superiors Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas and PNP officer-in-charge Leonardo Espina about the raid in the rebels’ lair.

On the other hand, Napenas was accused of carrying out unlawful orders from Purisima.
